Mordekaiser didn't get a nerf in the last patch (Release Notes v.126.96.36.199), here's the patch notes (Skip if you don't care):
Mace of Spades
Base damage increased to 80/110/140/170/200 from 20/40/60/80/100
Now scales off of only bonus damage rather than all damage
Now deals 75% bonus damage if Mace of Spades only hits 1 target
Health cost reduced to 20/25/30/35/40 from 30/35/40/45/50
The main target of Mace of Spades now generates shield for Mordekaiser
Base damage increased to 24/38/52/66/80 from 16/32/48/64/80
Ability power ratio increased to 0.2 from 0.15
Increased missile travel speed when casting Creeping Death on an ally
Siphon of Destruction
Damage reduced to 65/105/145/185/225 from 85/110/155/200/245
Ability power ratio increased to 0.6 from 0.4
Base shield generation reduced to 1/2/3/4/5 from 6/9/12/15/18
Children of the Grave
Now steals 24/29/34% of the target's maximum health over the duration up from 24/28/32%
Now deals half damage to the target initially and half damage over time
Duration increased to 10 seconds from 8
Total ability power ratio over the duration increased to 0.04 from 0.016
Fixed a bug where Children of the Grave was improperly blocked by Black Shield
Mordekaiser now gains 20% of the pet's Ability Power, reduced from 25%
Mordekaiser now gains 20% of the pet's Attack Damage, reduced from 25%

The pet now gains 75% of Mordekaiser's ability power and damage at all 3 ranks and the ratio itself no longer increases with Mordekaiser's total ability power
Pet health bonus reduced to 15% from 50%
Fixed a bug where the pet was not generating shield for Mordekaiser when hitting inhibitors
Shield generation increased to 30% from 25%
Fixed a tooltip bug
Fixed bugs where several components of some spells generated shield equal to 20% of the damage dealt instead of 25%
Fixed bugs where several tooltips did not properly reflect cooldown values with cooldown reduction factored in
Fixed a bug where occasionally Mordekaiser could generate shield multiple times from a single source of damage (causing a huge spike)
Reworded/simplified several tooltips
- It's rework, not nerf or buff.
First of all, you need your farm, don't do a lot before your third item, which should be Sheen. The first 2½ item, you just farm to, don't take risks
yet, unless you're sure on your character. Just farm, you should get it in 10-15 min
I'll explain further.
Always get Ignite and Ghost (I prefer improved ghost), Flash and Exhaust will work as well. But I strongly recommend Ignite and Ghost.
9/21/0 build, always. I'm sure you can do something else, but you have to be able to tank, while doing a great damage.
As Mordekaiser you should always get Regrowth Pendant, you need to spend HP on your abilities, so regen is definitely the best, not Dorans shield, you can use that, but you'd have to sell it later, and I like to build something out of every item I buy. So Regrowth Pendant.
From that, go for Force of Nature, and Mercury's Treads. I always do that, cause no matter what you're up agaist, theyt got some magic damage. Even if it's not alot, they either got some kind of CC, and the regen and movement speed is awesome. I'll get back on the rest.
Since it's a 3v3 guide, I'd use my runes for 'shorter' games. I find this very effectively. You can use something else, health per level, cause you will get level 18.
Quintessence: Flat health
Glyphs: Flat Magic resistance
Marks: Flat Armor
When you've got Force of Nature, and Mercury's Treads, you should go for Sheen. Then you start ganking, you got Siphon of Destruction maxed, and Maces of Spaces as well, if not, you'd still be able to do a hell of a lot damage. Go bot, place wards in mid if your team didn't do it. Get some kills, but don't EVER underestimate your enemy, 1v2 will probably go on pretty fine, a help from one from your team is always appreciated. 1v3, only do that if you're sure you can take the damage, a help is highly appreciated. You should go on till you can get Phage and Zeal, then go for Trinity Force.
You now got you 3 main items for this build.
The rest depends on what you're up against, normally, I'd go for Sunfire Cape, Frozen Mallet, and Rylai's scepter as my last item, elixirs after that. Normally I don't even get to finish my Frozen Mallet. If you're against a Master Yi, AD Sion or so, get a Thornmail instead of a Sunfire Cape. You'd still have plenty of damage.
Abilities is always the same for me, max out Siphon of Destruction, Maces of Spades, your Ultimate between that, then Creeping Death.
