Dr. Mundo, The Madman of Zuan

It is said that the man now known as Dr. Mundo was born in the city of Zaun without any sort of conscience. Instead, he had an unquenchable desire to inflict pain through experimentation. By the time he was five, most of the pets in the neighborhood had gone missing. By his teenage years, his parents were nowhere to be found. By the time he had legally acquired his license to practice medicine, he had been acquitted of 38 charges of murder by the Zaun authorities; the lack of evidence made prosecution impossible. Unfortunately, the city-state of Noxus regards such behavior as a sign of initiative and ambition, rather than inhumanity. Dr. Mundo was recruited to fight for Noxus in the League of Legends. He continues his experiments to this day, even using himself as an experimental subject.

  •   1. Introduction

    This guide is about building Dr. Mundo in such a way that through health regeneration, excess hp and plenty of damage reduction he shall be one of the toughest tanks in the game. There are some downsides as well as some positives that i will cover but all in all its a build i often enjoy.

  •   6. Early Game

    I tend to start the game on mundo by grabbing a  Regrowth Pendant unless of course i feel like playing a 5gp10 stack setup in which case i would grab a  Ruby Crystal as i prepare to build 2 or even 3  Heart of Gold. Though on mundo im finding it hard to play my early aggressive  Infected Cleaver spam without early hp regen.
    Once i proceed to a lane I dont mind harrassing before the minions arrive if I can land a few  Infected Cleaver blows at the cost of taking some damage and hopefully wasting somebodies mana im pretty happy since Mundo tends to regen the lost hp back and in some cases the enemy cant and is already set back.
    Once the minions arrive i try to harrass heroes but its also important to snipe as many minion kills as you can with  Infected Cleaver Mundo without his gear isnt a very good hero most other heroes 1 on 1 will put you down so the most important thing you can do is get your first Warmog's Armor as quick as possible, as soon as i put it on i immediately feel the difference between me and my foe also hitting level 6 helps for  Sadism that's when Mundos game really takes off.
    Best thing you can do is just be patient work on acquiring your gear if the lane is clear quickly kill some jungle mobs i tend not to worry too much about the troll or lizard as other heroes will make better use of the buffs but if nobody is using them im not one to pass them up.

  •   7. Mid Game

    Once the lanes begin to disolve and the group fights and more coordinated attacks begin taking place its important to be involved as you are a tank and the team needs you, not too mention  Infected Cleaver is great for slowing an enemy and securing a team kill but it's extremely important not to forget the lanes every minion killed is 5 extra gold for the team on top of the bounty given to the killing champion avoid letting minions fall upon the towers Mundos  Burning Agony is a great move for cleaning up lanes just be quick and dont hesitate.

    Make sure to be mindful of the enemy champions on the minimap when farming a lane mid game, if you push a lane towards a tower and you notice 2 or more enemies are missing from the map assess the situation alone you will not get hero kills vs 2 heroes and you wont be unstoppable just yet so push where you can and cut your losses when things are uncertain stay agile and pickup as much gold as you can remember to clear forests as you travel between lanes.
    You just have to survive the mid game at least holding your ground and trying to increase your gold lead, you may already notice that with 2 heroes on your back you can put down most groups as long as you throw yourself into the fight with  Burning Agony on trying to draw as much attention to yourself as possible this allows your team mates to pickup a kill and using  Ghost,  Flash and  Sadism you should be able to survive most fights.

  •   8. Group Fights

    In the group fights its important to draw as much attention to yourself as you can, mundo doesnt deal alot of dps but he does tend to create a panic when he runs headlong into a group, if you can draw enough attention, the dps of your team should be able to pickup some kills before you go down if you go down at all. 
    I tend to run for the squishy casters with all moves blazing this creates a distraction that their tanks/dps cannot ignore so long as you lead the charge before an enemy tank makes a similiar move your party should be protected from the same thing happening to them and they should be free to pick off the enemy dps classes.

  •   9. Summary

    Dr. Mundo is capable of taking large amounts of damage when stacked right and  Sadism has the potential to be the largest healing spell in the game, the only problem is mundo has no stun and no taunt so you really have to run ahead of the party in order to draw their fire, if you play a team that simply wont hit you, its possible for him to deal enough dps to bring down squishy heroes but in order to secure victory this build really needs to be absorbing most of the enemies punishment.
