Sivir - Bich's Guide to Sivir "The Battle Mistress"

>Introduction:

Sivir is one of those very versatile characters that can really give your team a huge edge during those large skirmishes as well as provide the raw pushing power needed to quickly destroy your enemy's defenses. While there are several guides already available for Sivir, I've chosen to write my own that I believe will allow Sivir to be incredibly effective in both PuGs and Premade scenarios.

This guide will focus on Sivir's ability to be a devastating DPS force on the battlefield as well as maintaining her usefulness as a team utility character. Please take the time to rate this guide and read it fully, correct any mistakes you feel I've made or add your own thoughts. I feel this guid is mostly complete however there are still some things remaining to do.

My Theory:

Elixir of Agility is one of the very best uses of 300g when used properly and in combination with Elder Lizzard Buff. It does not dissipate on death.

I generally tend to solo a lane, preferably middle, when I play Sivir. My teammates usually can agree that I will bring the best team buff (On the Hunt) and Aura(s) (Stark's Fervor and possibly Aegis of the Legion late game) to a battle and therefor the faster I can level and farm the better. However, Sivir can still be played in a two man lane but won't be anywhere near as effective.

Spell Shield is your friend! As other guides have stated using spell shield to block selective incoming spells can be invaluable and cause your enemy to waste much needed mana early. With some practice you should be able to anticipate and block incoming attacks such as Ashe's Ultimate or Scion's Stun.

I feel mana regen is over rated on Sivir. I have virtually no issue with mana when I choose my skills in the order mentioned above. Should you choose to you may pad your early game mana regen with blue runes, but I highly discourage purchasing any regen items. I strongly believe in the Ricochet over Spiral Blade farming theory. In my opinion you will likely never solo push a tower in under 6 minutes or before level 6 so pushing to the enemy tower is of little use this early. In fact it can be a sure way to get ganked early as all the open space behind you is available for enemy flankers. Instead try keeping pace with your enemy or farming near your tower with ricochet. You may be able to bait your opponent into range of the tower for an easy kill and you'll definitely be safer this way. Use spiral blade to finish a running enemy if they decided to attempt a fight with you early game.

Early Game (0 - 10 minutes):

Start the game off with a Vampiric Scepter and get to your lane. Push slightly near the enemy turret early to scout your opponent and check his items then quickly fall back. If your opponent is squishy and has little or no life regen you may want to start with Spiral Blade. If you have a two man team in your lane or your opponent is too difficult to harass I suggest starting with Ricochet (75% of the time I start like this). Grab Spell Shield at level two and play defensively enough that your life leech is all that you need to keep you in the lane with spell blocks. Since I choose to play with exhaust and rally I can generally get a kill on an overly aggressive enemy player early. The trick is to bait him behind your creeps when you have under half HP, exhaust and rally then use your Spiral Blade to finish him. I've even gotten double kills this way against enemies who got a little too close to my tower before level 6! Don't spam Spiral Blade or use it as a means to farm early game as you'll just run out of mana. Focus on Ricochet and Spell Shield instead to keep your mana regen up and farm at a steady pace with your enemy.

Mid Game (10 - 30 minutes):

Hopefuly you've scored a kill or just last hit your way to afford your Emblem of Valour and Recurve Bowearly game. Now finish your Stark's Fervor and begin working on Berserker's Greaves. Continue to farm your lane, but now you should be able to play more aggressively and farm much faster. Your life steal, armor pen, health regen and attack speed have now gone up dramatically allowing you to push your enemy's tower. Finish your Berserker Greaves. If you haven't finished your lane's tower ask for help, get it down asap. Once you've cleared the lane and have a reliable creep push going grab an Elixir of Agility and head to either Elder Lizard for a quick buff. Pop your elixir and pick a lane with someone squishy who's past the mid point of their lane. Coordinate with your teammates for an easy kill or possibly a double kill. Don't forget to Ult buff everyone around you for faster movement and attack speed. Help that lane quickly push its tower, farm and buy your B.F. Sword. Continue this gank/push process or keep your middle lane pushed back while you farm for an infinity edge. Don't forget to refresh your Elixir of Agility, it really makes a difference during those ganks.

Late Game (30+ minutes):

Now that you've got Stark's Fervor, Berserker Greaves and Infinity Edge as well as a rolling Elixir buff and hopefully Elder Lizard its time for late game cleanup. You should now be incredibly strong as a team centerpiece as well as a dominating force of DPS in team exchanges or tower pushes. Keep your lanes pushed and look for easy ganks but don't focus too hard on ganking now. When your teammates have the enemy distracted but aren't in a position to fight (under a tower in most cases) try pressuring the enemy by occupying the adjacent lane. This will help you easily finish reaching 18 if you haven't, get you plenty of gold and force the enemy team to split up and divide usually sending 1 or 2 to your lane. Don't forget to support your teammates in skirmishes when they do happen out in the open away from enemy turrets. Killing an entire enemy team is incredibly important after the 35 to 40 minute mark as the respawn timers have climbed dramatically due to elapsed time and character level. Follow through team battles with strong team pushes on the enemy base. Usually one good skirmish win after 40 minutes can easily give you enough time to seal the win. Items this late in the game can vary depending on your opponents. I usually have a good tank/initiator and therefor go further into my DPS role with a Last Whisperthen a Frozen Mallet

Final Thoughts:

Playing Sivir in this fashion should allow you to domminate on DPS without sacraficing farming or pushing power. I find this build to be very efficient. You'll still be a huge benefit to your teammates with On the Hunt and Stark's Fervor and can easily turn the tables in a skirmish. This build allows you to fully skip unessecary Mana Regen items and other lackluster items in place of hard armor pen, life steal and attack speed items, the core of any Sivir Build. Don't forget to use Elixir of Agility and grab the Elder Lizzard for easy gank/pushes in the mid game and to give a large advanatge in late game.
