Kayle, The Judicator
There is a world far away where an ancient conflict still rages. Kayle was a champion in her war, the fair bringer of justice, and there are those that call her an angel. However, there are many who would call her murderer or monster. Kayle tirelessly fought for her people, bringing enemies to their knees. That is, until the day she was summoned. Plucked from her conflict, Kayle at first raged - until she saw the cause for which she had been called. Now she has brought her role to Valoran, dispensing her brand of justice to the League of Legends in an attempt to salvage the very survival of the planet. She is a striking winged figure. Though incredibly beautiful, Kayle hides herself under armor, knowing that justice is so often an ugly thing. Despite her newfound life, there is still a part of her that yearns for her home.
Kayle is, for lack of a more sophisticated term, a bruiser. She can sear enemies with what she calls holy energy, sucking the life and magic from a victim. She is capable of sharing the harm done to her with those who inflict it. Her ability to intervene can help an allied Champion return from death with haste then she can bless them with increased speed. When the time comes, Kayle can ignite her sword with holy fire, bringing out the true avenging angel within her.
In the League of Legends, Justice comes on swift wings.
1. Abilities
Passive: Holy Fervor
30% of Kayle's attack damage is added to her ability power and 15% of Kayle's ability power is added to her attack damage.
Reckoning
Blasts a target for X(60,110,160,210,260) magic damage and slowing it’s movement speed by 25% for 4 seconds.
While slowed Kayle inflicts X%(8, 10, 12,14,16) extra damage to the enemy.
Divine Blessing
Blesses an allied champion, healing them for X(60, 105, 145, 185, 225) and increasing their movement speed by X%(12,14,16,18,20) for 10 seconds.
Righteous Fury.
Kayle’s attacks strike at range. Theese attacks dealing an additional X(8, 14, 20, 26, 32) magic damage to her target and nearby enemy units take X% (20, 25, 30, 35.5, 40) of her attack damage plus X(8, 14, 20, 26, 32) magic damage.
Intervention.
Shields Kayle or an ally for a short time, causing them to be immune to damage for X(3,4,5) seconds.
Introduction
So, this is strictly a guide on my take of how to play Kayle as DPS.
Pros:
- Intervention makes a HUGE difference in team battles & 1on1.
- Great ganker
- Slow & Movement speed increase
Cons:
- Low mana pool
- Not so great early game
3. Items
Recommended Items.
Berserker’s Greaves
Guinsoo’s Rageblade
Nashor’s Tooth
Hextech Gunblade
Deathfire Grasp
Will of the Ancients/Void Staff
Recommended item order:
Start: Boots & 2 mana pots + 1 health pot.
2nd Blue Pill: Berserkers Greaves & Blasting Wand
3d Blue Pill: Guinsoo’s Rageblade
4th Blue Pill: Hextech Revolver
5th Blue Pill: Hextech Gunblade
6th Bluepill: Nashor’s Tooth
You can swap the order of Gunblade and Tooth if you want, also it’s rare that games last long enough to get Grasp and Will or Staff.
4. Skilling Order
1. Reckoning, I always start with this for the harass / slow.
2. Righteous Fury
3. Reckoning, This is where me and my partner generally get first blood.
4. Divine Blessing
From here on I tend to swap between Reckoning and Righteous Fury, only taking Divine as a last resort.
5. Summoner Abilities
1. Clarity
2. Ignite
Now, I always pick Ignite, so I can get 1st kill (get it 90% of games), Clarity I pick because Kayle has seriously low mana pool when you don’t start out with an item like Rod of Ages and you’re harassing all the time.
My other choices would be Flash or Ghost instead of Clarity.
6. Summary.
Game Mechanics/Strategy
- Once you get Rageblade, Start out with Divine Blessing, then Righteous Fury and then Reckoning, This way you ’ll be at 3 stacks, and the last 5 will come within 2 seconds.
- Your ulti will block almost all stuns, but not slows.
- Kayle’s abilities work well for harassing & denying your lane rivals minion kills.
- If you use Divine Blessing on someone, you’ll get assists for their kills while they have the buff.
7. Creep Jungling
Once you hit lvl 7 you can jungle without problems, as long as you start with the golem buff.
Lizard eldar buff works well on kayle as well, as Righteous Fury attacks still count as auto-attacks.
8. Working with your team.
If your team is chasing someone you can slow them with Reckoning and possibly even steal the kill if you also pop Righteous Fury.
You can also use Divine Blessing to give someone that last bit of speed they need to score a kill, and steal an assist.
As DPS kayle, you can quickly bring down almost any main DPS, except maybe champions like Garen or Jax because of their stun / dmg reduction.
9. Farming
Once you get Guinsoo’s Rageblade, you’ll be able to push lanes like never before with Righteous Fury.
10.Masteries
I find that a 21/0/9 build works well, taking the improved mana & imp Clarity.
Also 9/0/21 is a great build because of the cooldown reduction & bonus’s.
12.Runes
I prefer to run with pure AP Pr. Level
Other wise I use HP quints, and the rest AP . Pr. lvl
