Poppy-Full DPS build by Xynerial

    Pre-game Setup

Poppy in my opinion is one of the best champions in the game due to her abilities. Without even being fed you can easily one vs. one or two vs. one with ease. Although she isn't on my top played champions list, I've played her enough to know how to use her. What I did on this champion is took my Teemo build and modified it a bit to fit her.

        Masteries

I go with a DPS mastery tree, 21-9-0. I go with crit chance, CD reduction, armor exposure, and a little attack speed. For the defense tree, I go with armor and dodge-->Nimbleness. On poppy I also go with Exhaust & Ignite for Summoner Abilities for a good start to the game.

        Offense (21)

        -Deadliness 3/3
        -Cripple 1/1
        -Sorcery 4/4
        -Alacrity 1/4
        -Archaic Knowledge 1/1
        -Improved Ignite 1/1
        -Sunder 3/3
        -Brute Force 3/3
        -Lethality 3/3
        -Havoc 1/1

        Defense (9)
          -Hardiness 3/3

-Resistance 1/3

-Evasion 4/4
        -Nimbleness 1/1

        Runes

For runes go with Armor Penetration for Marks, Crit chance or Dodge for Seals, and CD reduction for Glyphs. For Quintessences get an armor penetration, Attack Power per Level, and a Crit Chance rune.

        In-Game

        Summoner Abilities

For summoner abilities, like I said I usually go with Exhaust/Ignite, especially for Twisted Treeline. In Summoner's rift I will sometimes go with Teleport depending on my team's capability to get across the map. For example, if we have a Twisted Fate, Pantheon, or Shen, or even if a lot of the team have Teleport, I won't usually get it because I never like to stack things.

        Items

As far as items go I usually base them off the team I'm facing. As a melee DPS champion, there are many options to counter-class the opposing team. For example, I was facing a Dr. Mundo, Shen, and Singed yesterday on Twisted Fate and I completely changed my build. I went from Malady, Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Phantom Dancer to Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, Madred's Bloodrazors, and a Frozen Mallet.

So, typically this is my item build:

            1. Doran's Blade and a Health Potion to start
            2. Berserker Greaves
            3. Malady (work on at the same time as your boots)
            4. Infinity Edge
            5. Bloodthirster
            6. Phantom Dancer
            7. Frozen Mallet
If however, there are many spell caster (Ryze, Annie, Veigar, etc.), I will go with Mercury Treads in stead of Berserker, Banshee's Veil instead of Frozen Mallet, and I might throw in one more Magic Resist item depending on the spell caster's potency.

        Abilities

As I list the abilities, I will input some advice on how and when to use them. This champion has a great set of abilities that enable her to deal massive damage, destroy most champions one on one and turret dive easily.

       Passive:
Valiant Fighter- Any damage dealt to Poppy that exceeds 10% of her current health is reduced by 50%. This does not reduce damage from structures.

       Q:
Devastating Blow - Poppy crushes her opponent, dealing attack damage plus a flat amount and 8% of her target's max health as bonus damage. The bonus damage cannot exceed a threshold based on rank.

Poppy crushes her opponent, dealing attack damage (+0.6) plus 20/60/100/140/180 and 8% of her target's maximum health in bonus damage. The bonus damage dealt cannot exceed 75/150/225/300/375.
-This is the ability I level up first after I level up all 3 skills. After I level them I level this up to 5. I wouldn't recommend following an AP build for Poppy EVER. This does an insane amount of damage at level 5 and there's no need to stack up it's damage by getting AP. As this build, you'll do double the damage that an AP Poppy does.

W: Paragon of Demacia - Passive: Upon being hit or attacking an enemy, Poppy's armor and damage are increased for 5 seconds. This effect can stack 10 times. Active: Poppy gains max stacks of Paragon of Demacia and her movement speed is increased for 5 seconds.
Passive: Upon being hit or attacking an enemy, Poppy's armor and damage are increased by 1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5 for 5 seconds. This effect can stack 10 times.

Active: Poppy gains max stacks of Paragon of Demacia and her movement speed is increased by 17/19/21/23/25% for 5 seconds.
-This ability is really just good for escaping and chasing. It speeds you up and increases defensive attributes.

E: Heroic Charge - Poppy charges at an enemy and carries them further. The initial impact deals a small amount of damage, and if they collide with terrain, her target will take a high amount of damage and be stunned.

Poppy charges at an enemy and carries them for a short distance. The initial impact deals 50/75/100/125/150 (+0.4) magic damage. If they collide with terrain, her target takes 75/125/175/225/275 (+0.4) magic damage and will be stunned for 1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5/1.5 seconds.
-This is the ability I get first. I will usually line up adjacent to the brush and let my teammate go in the brush. I then charge the squishiest champion and typically we will get the first kill. This ability is leveled after Devastating Blow. Remember that charging people into terrain stuns and does extra damage.

R: Diplomatic Immunity - Poppy focuses intently on a single target, dealing increased damage to them. Poppy is immune to any damage and abilities from enemies other than her target.

For 6/6/6 seconds, Poppy is immune to any damage and abilities from enemies other than her target.

In addition, Poppy's attacks deal 20/30/40% increased damage to the marked target.
-This ability is amazing for turret diving and getting away. This target is multi-functional. You can use it on a weak target then attack another one so they cant do anything back or you can just straight up one on one someone with ease. Also, if your trying to run away, you can put it on a weak champion and use Paragon of Demacia to speed yourself up.

        Conclusion

By the end of the game, with this build, you should be doing good even if you haven't used this champion much. She will crit for around 700 or higher and be able to wreck the face off almost any champion. The item build in this guide can be used with most melee DPS champions so try it out.
