Ashe: The Kiting Machine by Xynerial

Ashe: The Kiting Machine by Xynerial

Ashe is a high dps, slowing, stunning monster that can be a great help to a team mid to late game. But, until about lvl 6, when you get your Enchanted Arrow ability, you aren't a giant threat. However, there is a way to counter this.

Runes

On Ashe, I typically go with Armor pen marks, Critical Strike seals, CD reduction glyphs, and Critical Strike Quintessences.

-I get Armor penetration runes for the ability to tear through tanks and other tough melee/ranged easier. Also, it makes squishy champions even more squishy!
-Critical strike is what really helps early game on Ashe and makes lvl 1-5 easier for you. Pretty much her passive makes it so every time you go into combat you crit and then you could pull off additional crits here and there without having to waste mana on Volley.
-The CD reduction glyphs are to make your Volley and Enchanted Arrow CD's lower. The CD on these are already low but with the CD reduction, it makes it even faster.

Masteries

I build Ashe with a 21/0/9 mastery set up including crit chance, CD reduction, Armor pen, etc. in the offensive tree. In the utility tree, I put points into regeneration, experience, and gold generation to help with Ashe' gold farming.

Offensive tree (21)
-Deadliness (3/3)
-Cripple (1/1)
-Sorcery (4/4)
-Alacrity (2/4)
-Archaic Knowledge (1/1)
-Sunder (3/3)
-Brute Force (3/3)
-Lethality (3/3)
-Havoc (1/1)

Utility Tree (9)
-Spacial Accuracy (1/1)
-Perseverance (3/3)
-Awareness (4/4)
-Greed (1/1)

Summoner Abilities

As far as summoner abilities go, I go with Exhaust and Teleport. Exhaust is a great spell for anything against a champion who uses physical damage. Teleport is not only used to get back to farming experience and gold faster but also to perform a snipe and teleport combo (snipe = Enchanted Arrow) which I'll talk more about in the Ability section of this guide.

Items

On all of my champions, I like to use different builds against different team compositions. For example, if there is a team that is mostly made up of tanks, I will stack armor penetration (i.e.-Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, and Madred's Bloodrazor). Against spell-casters I will use more magic resistance like Mercury Treads and a Banshee's Veil instead of the Black Cleaver.

-Doran's Blade and 1 Health Potion
-Swiftness Boots
-Infinity Edge
-Bloodthirster
-Phantom Dancer
-Phantom Dancer
-Black Cleaver

The reason I go with two Phantom Dancers on Ashe is because with Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster, you don't need much more attack damage on her. Having the attack speed bonuses and movement speed are the main reasons to get these (There's no way your opponents will get away because of your frost arrow ability.)

Ashe's Abilities

Focus (Passive): While out of combat, Ashe's critical strike chance increases every 3 seconds, but lasts for only one attack.
-Her passive is great for starting up a fight. Wait 3 seconds, shoot an arrow and wreck some noobs.

Frost Shot (Active): Toggle ability, While on, each of Ashe's attacks slow her target's movement speed at the cost of mana.
-This is a great ability that at lvl 5 slows the target to the point they cant get away. Don't use this until you fight a champion however, it's just a waste of mana on minions.

Volley (Active): Ashe fires 9 arrows in a cone for 150% damage. Volley slows enemies based on your current level of Frost Shot.
-This is another great ability that adds damage to your array of abilities, slows, adds range, and can hit more than one target.

Archer's Mark (Passive): Each time Ashe kills a unit, she gains some extra gold.
-This is good for farming and also volley can be a great ability to last hit a group of minions with so keep that in mind.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow (Active): Ashe fires a missile at any point on the map. If the arrow encounters a champion it damages him and nearby enemies. These units are stunned for up to 5 secs, based on how far the arrow has traveled.
-This is your biggest ability. It's an arrow with an infinite range and the farther it goes the longer it stuns. So, the coolest thing on Ashe in my opinions is her ability to use your Enchanted Arrow from the base at someone near your turret, then teleport to it. A little after you get there, the arrow should arrive. So, activate your frost arrow, shoot volley and kill that unworthy opponent! Always try to shoot down lanes, it's much harder to hit when your shooting sideways.

Conclusion

Ashe is a champion with a nice array of abilities that help her finish off her opponents slowly. Ashe is a slow beginner but a deadly finisher.
