Anivia Champion Spotlight Video

Greetings summoners,

Want to be the coolest champion in the game? Look no further than Anivia the Cryophoenix, a rebirthing bird of prey aimed at “chilling out,” “keeping it cool,” and “taking it slow.” The build detailed in this Spotlight revolves around heavy nuking and bursting down your opponents.

My build focuses on Ability Power, with Mejai’s Soulstealer being a core focus. Supplementary items for mobility, mana, and survival include Catalyst the Protector and Sorcerer’s Shoes. I typically work towards Deathfire Grasp, Void Staff if necessary, Chalice of Harmony if necessary, and Zhonya’s Ring.

Your general playstyle should revolve around setting up Flash Frost’s double-hit slow/stun. While the projectile is slow-moving, you have Crystallize and Glacial Storm to help set up your kills. Once Flash Frost hits, Frostbite allows you to hit for upwards of 800 damage with both spells. Additionally, you can deal over 2 damage for every point of Ability Power if you hit all your spells.

Mana is a fairly scarce resource for Anivia, especially if you use her ultimate too much. Thankfully, it is fairly easy to keep the Golem buff if you keep an eye out for it. With that in mind, clearing entire minion waves with Glacial Storm and Flash Frost is quite simple. Turn on the ultimate, and either way until the melee minions are weak enough to die to a single hit of Flash Frost, or simply detonate it on the front wave and hope Glacial Storm kills the ranged ones for you. Either way, Anivia excels at earning gold.

I focus on Flash Frost whenever I can, leveling up Frostbite as a secondary skill and learning Crystallize whenever you think you’ll be supporting your team.
